Catching up with Salisbury graduate Sarah Galantini What is your full name? Sarah Marie Galantini When did you graduate from Salisbury? 2016 Tell us about your life since high school. After high school, I attended York College of Pennsylvania to obtain my bachelors degree in nursing. While attending, I coordinated orientation programs for incoming students. I also traveled with the Alumni Office regularly to connect and network with York College alumni. Meanwhile, I worked at Lehigh Valley Health Network in the Float Pool & Emergency Department. I have also enjoyed some free time by traveling to places like Italy and Germany. I graduated college this past May and passed my board exam to obtain my RN license. In July, I started my Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Department at Lehigh Valley Health Network. What are you most proud of personally and/or professionally? I am most proud of graduating from my nursing program and passing my RN boards exam within four years. That was my goal after high school. Nursing school was my most challenging, yet fulfilling journey yet. I have learned more than I ever imagined I could. It was not an easy road, but it was a forever rewarding one. How has the pandemic impacted you and what have you learned from it? The pandemic has impacted me in numerous ways. I finished my last few months of college online and had a virtual graduation ceremony. Who would have thought? The pandemic has also heavily affected my work in the hospital. Nurses are on the front lines, especially in the Emergency Department. Through all of this, I have learned the importance of adapting when life throws you a curveball. It’s ok if life doesn’t go exactly according to plan! What was your favorite high school memory? My favorite high school memories come from the SHS girls soccer team. We shared so many fun times together - pasta parties, bus rides, sleepovers, and so much more. I remember beating Palisades in penalty kicks and ‘dog piling’ on each other. We had a great time! How is your family doing? My family is doing well. Staying busy with school and work (as always). With everyone being home throughout this pandemic, we have spent lots of quality time together! If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would you choose and why? This changes daily! Today, I would choose Ben Roethlisberger from the Pittsburgh Steelers. I would want to talk his ear off about this season’s success! He has had many injuries and obstacles in his football career. I would want to talk with him about his ability to overcome adversity and where his motivation comes from. Who is your role model and why? Two of my most influential role models are my parents. I have always looked up to them - whether it be for support, advice, or to tell me a funny joke! They taught me to always work hard and to never back down from something (even if it’s hard). I don’t know what I would do without them! #yoursalisbury

As we look to begin the winter season, it is imperative that students do not attend any Salisbury tryouts/practices/workouts if they have been Covid tested and are awaiting the results of that Covid test. Additionally, students may not attend Salisbury tryouts/practices/workouts if household members have been Covid tested and are awaiting the results of that Covid test. Please stay safe and stay healthy. #yoursalisbury
