MRS. LYNN FUINI-HETTEN, SUPERINTENDENT

Lynn Fuini-Hetten is the Superintendent in the Salisbury Township School District. Prior to her work in this position, Lynn served as Associate Superintendent, Supervisor of Instructional Practice, middle school teacher, instructional coach, instructional support teacher and assistant principal in the district. In her current role, Lynn is responsible for professional learning for all staff, supporting curriculum development, supervising the district’s virtual learning academy (VAST), and managing federal programs. Lynn has been an integral part in the success of Salisbury’s 1:1 teaching and learning initiative – Teaching and Learning 2020 (TL2020). As a result of her work in the area of professional development, Salisbury Township School District was recently recognized nationally as a Project RED Signature District and an Apple Distinguished Program. Lynn was recognized in 2013-14 with a mini-grant from LearningForward PA to provide professional development focused on leading the implementation of PA Core Standards for the administrative team. Lynn received a BS and an MS in elementary education from Kutztown University, principal certification from Penn State University, instructional technology certification from Kutztown University and Superintendent Letter of Eligibility from Wilkes University. Lynn teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs in Moravian College as well as the prinicpal certification program at CLIU21. In May 2014 Lynn received the Wanda McDaniel Award from the Women’s Caucus of PASA (Pennsylvania’s Association of School Administrators.) Superintendent Performance Objectives for 2023-2024 School year:

  1. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the Leadership Team to reflect on the strategies implemented to improve strong core instruction. The Superintendent will deliver a report to the Board by June 30, 2024.

  2. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the Leadership Team to reflect on the strategies implemented to improve intervention services at SES and SMS. The Superintendent will deliver a report to the Board by June 30, 2024.

  3. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the Leadership Team to implement strategies implemented to promote parent engagement. Strategies will be shared via the monthly Superintendent report, community newsletters, or Board Updates.

  4. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the Leadership Team to

    communicate the strategies implemented for the transition to updated PA Science Standards. Action

  5. The Superintendent will continue to strengthen the finances and the facilities of the district to address long-standing issues, through the collaboration and supervision of the CFO.

  2. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the Leadership Team to reflect on the strategies implemented to improve intervention services at SES and SMS. The Superintendent will share information with the board by June 30, 2023.

  3.  The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the Leadership Team to implement strategies implemented to promote parent engagement. Strategies will be shared via the monthly Superintendent report, community newsletters, or Board Updates.

  4. The Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with the Leadership Team to communicate the strategies implemented for the transition to updated PA Science Standards.  Action steps will be shared through the monthly Teaching and Learning updates, community newsletters, or board updates.

Superintendent Performance Objectives
July 2021-June 2022

  1. The Superintendent will collaborate with the Board and the Administrative Team to reflect on the strategies implemented for learning loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Superintendent will deliver a report to the Board by June 30, 2022.

  2. The Superintendent, in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer, will prepare and present to the Board a responsible, balanced budget for approval by June 30, 2022 including but not limited to a comprehensive study of the District’s current enrollment and staffing.

  3. The Superintendent will increase communication with all stakeholders through Board meeting updates and monthly written community updates.

  4. Pending PA approval of standards, the Superintendent will collaborate with the instructional leadership team to present a plan for adoption and implementation of updated PA science standards by June 30, 2022.

On June 9, 2022, the board indicated the superintendent MET these performance objectives.

  1. The Superintendent will collaborate with the Board and the Administrative Team to reflect on the educational experience for learners during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Superintendent will deliver a report to the Board by June 30, 2020.

  2. The Superintendent, in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer will prepare and present to the Board a responsible, balanced budget for approval by June 30, including but not limited to a comprehensive study of the District’s current enrollment and staffing.

On June 2, 2021, the board indicated the superintendent MET these performance objectives.
