I like to watch netflix, go on adventures, spend time with family and friends, and to play sports. If you have pets, list what kind and names. I have a shepherd mix named Tucker. How would your friends describe you? My friends would describe me as outgoing, friendly, kind, and compassionate. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject was photography because it was something that I was really into. To this very day I take the opportunity to take interesting photos. Who is your favorite teacher? My favorite teacher would probably have to be Mrs. Basile or Mrs. Wascura. Both of these teachers pushed me and never gave up on me, they showed me the importance of hard work and still help me to this very day. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie would have to be Field of Dreams or Sandlot. Are you involved in any community service projects? Since my freshman year I have been involved in Key Club. Key Club is a community service organization where you help out within the school and your community. We read to elementary schools, do fundraisers, and help at Special Olympics. Who is your role model and why? My role models would have to be my aunts because they have pushed me to be my very best. No matter how difficult situations get they constantly push me and never let me give up. What’s next after graduation? After graduation I plan on attending LCCC to play softball and study Sports Management. #yoursalisbury

A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior Emily Paulik What is your full name? Emily Paulik What are your hobbies? Outside of school, I like spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy playing outside with my dog and relaxing days on the beach in the summer. If you have pets, list what kind and names. I have one dog named Sully. How would your friends describe you? I think my friends would describe me as caring and funny. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is math, but I especially like statistics. Who is your favorite teacher? It is really hard to pick a favorite teacher at Salisbury, but I really enjoyed all of the classes I had with Mr. Pearce. I always looked forward to talking with Ms. DosSantos and Mr. Frick as well. Mrs. Basile has also been an incredible teacher and advisor to me for the past four years. What is your favorite movie? I wouldn’t say I have a favorite movie but I really enjoy watching Clueless and Legally Blonde. Are you involved in any community service projects? As secretary of the Key Club at Salisbury, I participate in many community service projects throughout the year. My favorite this year has been our holiday hope chest drive where we collected Christmas gifts for local children in need. I also participate in community service through National Honor Society and class advisory. Who is your role model and why? My role model is my grandmother, Gigi, who always was my biggest supporter in everything I did. As she battled cancer and underwent chemo treatments she continued to show up for every event all my cousins and I had. She truly was a strong and caring woman who I looked up to greatly. What’s next after graduation? After graduation, I plan on attending Penn State University. I am currently undecided on my major but interested in pursuing a degree in business. #yoursalisbury

A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior John Jennings What is your full name? John Jennings What are your hobbies? Drawing, working, and anything relating to trains How would your friends describe you? Some friends would describe me as funny, some would see me as more quiet but hard working, and someone who is working hard towards his goals. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subjects were either history or art classes. I love learning about history, and art classes also came easy to me because I do it outside of school. Who is your favorite teacher? I can’t pick one, several of them have had a great impact on my academic improvement and build relationships with their students; they’ve all provided great high school memories. These include Mr. Hahn, Mr. Cerco, Mr. Frick, Mr. Laub, Mrs. Bruns, and others. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movies are the Star Wars movies, especially the original trilogy. My favorite would either be A New Hope or Return of the Jedi. Are you involved in any community service projects? I am a volunteer at the historic Wanamaker Kempton and Southern Railroad in Kempton, PA. While this provides me with railroading experience, it also holds many seasonal events throughout the year such as Easter events, Christmas events, autumn events, and many others for the communities and families to enjoy a relaxing train ride. Funding from some events directly benefits other organizations. Who is your role model and why? I have lots of role models. Family, friends, as well as people in the railroad business all have a big impact on shaping my future self. I take inspiration from these people to make the most successful version of myself possible. What’s next after graduation? After graduation, I plan on continuing work, and seek a full time career on the Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern Railroad as a freight conductor, so I can make a living off of doing what I enjoy. #yoursalisbury

A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior Rory Watson What is your full name? Rory Watson What are your hobbies? I love playing field hockey and being outside. Whether it is hiking or swimming or just walking around. I also enjoy being a barista at Starbucks. If you have pets, list what kind and names. I have two dogs Pooch and Lady, a water dragon named Dragon, and two turtles named Turtle and Squirtle. How would your friends describe you? I think my friends would describe me as kind, loving, and hard working. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is history. It’s mostly because everything and everyone has a story behind it/them and it intrigues me how things became how they are. Who is your favorite teacher? I would say Mrs. Basile; she’s one of the strongest persons I know and is wise beyond her years. She believes in every student. She has been someone I have looked up to since middle school. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is probably The Theory of Everything. Are you involved in any community service projects? I am part of the Starbucks Food Share which brings food every night from different locations to people who are in need. I also did Special Olympics with our Best Buddies! Who is your role model and why? Mrs. Brennan. She’s the strongest woman I know. Always has a positive attitude and mind. She never gives up on her team. She believes in people when they don’t believe in themselves. What’s next after graduation? His name is Charlie. How would your friends describe you? I'm known to be formal, quiet and funny What is your favorite subject? Math Who is your favorite teacher? Mr. Frick What is your favorite movie? Deadpool 2 Are you involved in any community service projects? I did in the past. Who is your role model and why? My role model is Markiplier because he puts a smile on people's faces daily and works hard to keep it that way. What’s next after graduation? My next move is to have a summer job. And then I take my driver's test around the end of 2021. I'm going to LCCC this fall and I'm studying accounting and creative writing for two years. A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior Angie Lopez What is your full name? Angie Lopez What are your hobbies? I love painting, reading and listening to music. If you have pets, list what kind and names. I have a Shih Tzu mix named Oreo How would your friends describe you? I think my friends would describe me as kind and responsible. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject would have to be Anatomy. Anatomy has always sparked my interest, but now that I am able to do hands-on learning in the classroom, it has helped me decide on what I wanted to do as a future career. Who is your favorite teacher? I have loved all my teachers throughout high school. But if I had to choose I would say Mr. Anderson and Mrs. Wilson. Although Mr.Anderson does not teach any formal classes he is such a wonderful guidance counselor. Mr. Anderson, or Cuz as I like to call him at times, has pushed me to be my very best and has believed in me from the very beginning. I probably wouldn’t be where I am academically without him. Mrs. Wilson’s teaching style has helped me finally realize the career path I want to take. She has given me great tips and advice in order to be successful in college. What is your favorite movie? Some of my favorite movies include The Greatest Showman and Aladdin. Are you involved in any community service projects? Currently, I am not involved in any community service project but I do like to help the community as much as I can. Recently, I had volunteered at St. Lukes and helped in whatever I could. Who is your role model and why? My role model is my mom. She is my motivation to become a successful woman in this world. Her hard work and dedication to her family will reside with me forever. A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior Rylee Yerkes What is your full name? My full name is Rylee Jane Yerkes. What are your hobbies? My hobbies include drawing, playing video games and reading. If you have pets, list what kind and names. I have two dogs, Josie and Cooper. I also have a very fat cat named Pucca. How would your friends describe you? My friends would describe me as awkward, but funny. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is art. Who is your favorite teacher? It’s really hard for me to pick a favorite teacher! Some of my favorites are Mr. Wetherhold, Mr. Yetter, and Mrs. Borthwick. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Little Shop of Horrors. Are you involved in any community service projects? I am not involved in any community service projects. However, I was involved with AEVIDUM and the Environmental Awareness Club. Who is your role model and why? What is your favorite subject? I enjoy many subjects, but I like history the most. Who is your favorite teacher? I would have to say my favorite teacher is Mrs. Schneider. She taught me in English and Newspaper Journalism. She has also taught me to face my fears. She has such a great learning style and I have learned so much from her. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is The Longest Ride. Are you involved in any community service projects? I was part of Key club for two years. I volunteered with Camp Smiles for kids with cancer. Also, I volunteered at a fishing camp for kids. Who is your role model and why? My role models are my grandparents. They always push me to do my best, they are my motivation, and whenever I need them they are there for me. What’s next after graduation? If you have pets, list what kind and names. I have a mini aussiedoodle named Max. How would your friends describe you? My friends would describe me as energetic, loyal, and independent. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject overall would be chemistry, but there are a couple other classes I really enjoyed like anatomy and physiology and tolerance and diversity. Who is your favorite teacher? I have a lot of favorite teachers at Salisbury. Mrs. Schneider is always someone I can go to, Mrs. Kennedy pushes me to think outside of the box, and Mr. Snyder and Mrs. Wilson made me love science classes and helped me decide I wanted to continue my education within those courses in college. What is your favorite movie? Some of my favorite movies are Safe Haven, 17 Again, and The Greatest Showman. Are you involved in any community service projects? Throughout high school, I have been involved in a lot of community service projects. Through Salisbury I created a club along with a friend based on community service and reaching out to those in need within the community. I have also completed multiple hours of community service through National Honor Society and my church. Who is your role model and why? My role model would have to be my mom because throughout the pandemic she has been working on the frontlines and still has been able to stay positive. What’s next after graduation? After graduation I plan to go to college majoring in health sciences to eventually go to graduate school and into the medical field. #yoursalisbury
