A little Q&A with Salisbury Senior Blake Lettko What is your full name? Blake Rian Lettko What are your hobbies? I enjoy listening to music, playing video games and recently have been disc golfing a lot. If you have pets, list what kind and names: I have two dogs. Maximus is a Rottweiler. Chevy is a German Shepherd. How would your friends describe you? My friends would describe me as caring, relaxed, adventurous, funny and stubborn. I do occasionally make a corny joke but I am no comedian. What is your favorite subject? I really enjoyed learning about history but like any physically active kid, I loved gym class. Who is your favorite teacher and why? Mrs. Kennedy and Mrs. Hutchinson. I couldn't choose between the two but both are very supportive and genuine with me. What is your favorite Salisbury memory? Beating Notre Dame, 23-21 What is your favorite movie? Good Will Hunting Are you involved in any community service projects? I was a member of Key Club and that got me to lend a helping hand in the community. Who is your role model and why? My mother is my role model because she taught me to be strong and caring from a young age. She never gave up on anyone or anything and it reflects on me today. What’s next after graduation? I will be enlisting in the United States Navy. #yoursalisbury

I have a dog named Pearl and a cat named Percy. How would your friends describe you? They would describe me as a calm and chill person. What is your favorite subject? Social Studies Who is your favorite teacher? Mrs. Kehl is my favorite teacher. What is your favorite movie? Logan Who is your role model? Troy Baker (american voice actor and musician) because he is very nice, calm and collected. What’s next after graduation? I am going back to work at Giant after things calm down and then TBA after that. #yoursalisbury

Catching up with Salisbury graduate Mason Donaldson What is your full name? Mason Donaldson When did you graduate from Salisbury? 2016 I know you played football at the University of Connecticut the last three years, what’s the plan going forward? I will be attending Campbell University in the fall. It’s a small Division I school in North Carolina. There I will be pursuing my Master of Science in Public Health degree, all while playing my last year of college football. What made you decide to attend Campbell University and continue playing football? It was more or less a couple factors that fell into line. I’ve been wanting to get myself out of the northeast and into the Carolinas. The coaching staff and the culture in place were the number one reason. The head coach Mike Minter is an extremely decorated football player himself. The coaches built their atmosphere putting an emphasis on qualities I do as well. After you finish at Campbell, what will you do next? I’ll go train for a few months and put myself in the NFL draft. I’ll hopefully get a chance via the draft or as an undrafted free agent. When football is finished I will look to incorporate my political science degree from UCONN and MSPH and work with international health organizations. What are your summer plans? I should hopefully be leaving June 1 to head south in hopes of starting some classes online and getting to work with the football team. What have you learned through this pandemic? That when we get bored with an issue we should put it behind us. Please stay home and stay distant. What was your favorite high school memory? The helmet game vs Southern Lehigh my senior year. (His knee wasn’t down.) What is your favorite movie and why? 1. Interstellar 2. Inception. Such invigorating movies. I know your sister Rylee recently finished her freshman year at Bucknell University, how is she doing? She is doing very well. She thrived athletically her freshman year in soccer. Who is your role model and why? Weirdly enough, I never really had a role model growing up. I had plenty of teachers and relatives I respected and opinions I valued. As far as a role model I really just was always working against myself. #yoursalisbury

I have a cat named Wilson. How would your friends describe you? My friends would describe me as very funny and competitive at everything. What is your favorite subject? My favorite subject is social studies because I get to learn about the past and I think it is very interesting. Who is your favorite teacher? My favorite teacher is Mrs. McNally because she always helps me and it's always there for me whenever I need help with school work. She is also very funny and I have a good time in her class. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Forrest Gump. Who is your role model and why? My role model is my mother; she always takes care of me and works hard to get me and my family what we need. She is also very kind and motivates me every day. What’s next after graduation? He's a pitbull and heeler and his name is Po. How would your friends describe you? My friends think I’m fun, energetic, and always there when they need me. What is your favorite subject? Math is my favorite subject. Who is your favorite teacher? LCTI health occupations teacher Ms. Maletsky is my favorite. She's always there when you need her and super supportive. What is your favorite Salisbury memory? My favorite Salisbury memory was that I got to be there with my sister for her first year of high school. What is your favorite movie? My favorite movie is Elf with Will Ferrell. What’s next after graduation? After graduation I'm going to go to school to be an art teacher. #yoursalisbury

Physical Education Who is your favorite teacher and why? Coach Cerco because he has always been there for me and he has helped turn me into the person I am today. He is a great man and I am so happy to have crossed paths with him. What is your favorite sports memory? Beating Notre Dame Green Pond. What is your favorite sports movie? Miracle Who is your role model and why? Jim Valvano because I believe the most important thing in life is to never give up and he lived his life by that rule. What’s next after graduation? Dogs (Max, Luna) Cats (Raider, Blaze) How would your friends describe you? Very fun, outgoing, adventurous What is your favorite subject? History Who is your favorite teacher and why? I can't think of a favorite teacher, but if I could choose anyone it would be SHS school counselor Mrs. Moyer because she has helped me a lot throughout the years and has become close with my family due to my brother having her as his 3rd grade teacher. What is your favorite Salisbury memory? Before I was in VAST, I loved the pep rallies and football games. What is your favorite movie? Zombieland: Double Tap Who is your role model and why? Definitely my mom, because she was a teen mom as well and has taught me many great things over the years but even more in the past eight months, Through being a teen mom, my mom has been the most supportive person in my life and we are actually closer than ever because of it. I don't know what I would have done or where I would be in life if I didn't have my mom. What’s next after graduation? After graduation, I plan on taking a year off getting myself back on track with work and taking care of my daughter Adalynn Rose. Then, I plan on going to LCCC for forensics. #yoursalisbury
