When did you graduate from Salisbury?
2002
Tell us about your life since high school.
Life has been exciting. I went to Pennsylvania State University Lehigh Valley for two years, and after that University Park for my remaining two years, where I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Information Sciences and Technology. I started with a job at a local architecture firm in State College, but after a year moved home, where I worked for Computer Aid for 8 years, a local IT consultancy company, with my primary client being PPL. After that I took a job at a local company which was acquired, and now work as a Google Cloud Certified Architect and Data Engineer at GFT USA, where I get to work with Google on a daily basis. Personally I have gotten into the world of craft beer, and started to work locally in my free time at a local brewery. I also enjoy traveling the world: I have been to Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Ireland, the Caribbean, Hong Kong and Thailand, and have been to over half of the states.
What are you most proud of personally and/or professionally?
I recently proposed to my girlfriend of 8 years, Jacquelyn, and we couldn’t be happier! Best thing is I got the entire proposal on video, so we can watch it for years to come.
How has the pandemic impacted you and what have you learned from it?
I worked from home before the pandemic hit, so I was lucky that I was not impacted from a career perspective; however, I have learned how to be able to appreciate “stopping and smelling the roses”, in that life doesn’t always need to be a constant social exercise. Sometimes it is nice to just sit at home and watch Netflix. Also I was affected personally with COVID that I got from one random encounter, so it shows how serious that this disease is.
What was your favorite high school memory?
I was in the band ever since I was in 4th grade, and probably placing 13th at ACCs with the marching band, and overall all the memories we made.
How is your family doing?
My father is a travel agent, so he has seen an extreme reduction in his job as a result of COVID, but business is starting to recover. My mother is the same she’s always been, except maybe getting a little stir crazy!
If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would you choose and why?
I’ve actually never thought of this. In addition to band, I also played baseball for the Salisbury Youth Association for many years. Mike Schmidt was my favorite player growing up, so I’d probably say him.
Who is your role model and why?
I have friends who are nurses who have had daily exposure to COVID and its effects. My role models are the first responders, nurses, and doctors that have to deal with this disease every day and still come back to work the next day. They are true heroes.

Look who earned a Falcon Proud slip this week! Mrs. Liggitt earned one for using habits #1-6 with her math group and Noah A. earned one for using habits #1-6 in the classroom. Thank you both for being great leaders.

SES first graders learned about a great leader this week, Martin Luther King, Jr. They completed a directed drawing activity and wrote about what they learned. Enjoy!

Catching up with Salisbury graduate Juliana Reinik
What is your full name?
Juliana Stiena Reinik
When did you graduate from Salisbury?
2014
Tell us about your life since high school.
After graduating, I attended La Salle University for a year before deciding I wanted to be closer to home. I moved home and attended Cedar Crest College, earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I now work as an RN in the emergency department and Level I trauma center at Reading Hospital. At the end of January, I will be relocating to Charleston, South Carolina, working in the emergency department and trauma center at the Medical University of South Carolina in downtown Charleston.
What are you most proud of personally and/or professionally?
Personally I am proud of achieving my goals of graduating from nursing school and passing my board exams. Professionally, I am proud of working for such a large health system during such a crazy time. Currently we have 16 hour wait times in our waiting room and we have no choice but to persevere and see critically ill patients despite having no space in the ER or hospital for them.
How has the pandemic impacted you and what have you learned from it?
Working in the emergency department, I have been caring for patients since the pandemic started. The pandemic has quickly taught me to not take my health or my loved ones for granted.
What was your favorite high school memory?
Senior year of cheerleading is probably my favorite high school memory. Getting to enjoy Friday nights with my best friends is something I will never forget. Also 2014 Mr. Salisbury was probably one of the best things I've ever seen.
How is your family doing?
My family is doing great. My brother Alex who graduated from Salisbury in 2009 spent four years in the Marine Corps and is now a police officer with a local police department. He and his wife now have three boys: Aiden, Austin, and Logan. My dad, who graduated from Salisbury in 1984, is enjoying his retirement after 25 years as a police officer. My mom and I are working alongside each other in the emergency department which is something I cherish greatly.
If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would you choose and why?
I would probably choose my great grandfather who passed away when I was one. He was a detective in Amsterdam, Netherlands during WWII and I would love to hear his stories.
Who is your role model and why?
My brother is my role model. Growing up we were always super close however after his multiple deployments to Afghanistan we grew even closer, and I am extremely proud of his strength and perseverance over the years.
