Catching up with Salisbury graduate Meagan Walsh
What is your full name?
Meagan Walsh
When did you graduate from Salisbury?
2010
Tell us about your life since high school.
After graduation I attended University of Delaware, where I received my B.S. in International Business & Marketing with a minor in Spanish Studies. During my time at UD, I was able to spend a semester studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I started my career in social media marketing and eventually moved to commercial real estate. I began as a Leasing Agent at our company’s Emmaus property, and transitioned to the City Center Allentown Residential team in 2017, where we are building & leasing the downtown apartment communities. I have been working as a Leasing Professional downtown since, and recently started transitioning into my new role as Associate Community Manager for our newly completed property. I never thought I would be a person who spends a significant amount of time on construction sites, but I absolutely love it.
I also purchased a home in Allentown in 2015 that I share with my very cute dog, Penny.
What are you most proud of personally and/or professionally?
I take a lot of pride in helping people “find their home”, and it truly is the best part of my job. I’m really proud of the work our team is doing to help revitalize Allentown. It’s gratifying to watch our city grow & evolve.
How has the pandemic impacted you and what have you learned from it?
I feel very lucky that my life hasn’t radically changed the same that it has for others since my office stayed open, but the pandemic has truly made me appreciate time spent with family. Many of our residents downtown are also medical professionals, and I have been in awe of them during this entire experience.
What was your favorite high school memory?
“Physics Family Vacation”- aka the Physics 2 trip to Disney World. Good way to spend a long weekend!
How is your family doing?
My family is great. My mom and dad are doing awesome, both working from home. My brother William graduated from college back in 2018 and is also a “real adult” now- crazy how time flies.
If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would you choose and why?
I would have loved to have dinner with Douglas Adams, author of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series.
Who is your role model and why?
My parents, absolutely. I am so impressed by their dynamic and the way they work together. I could not have asked for a better set of individuals to learn from.
