Goals (Time frame: August 2018 - May 2019)
#1: Instruction: Teaching and Learning
GOAL: Build capacity of stakeholders (school leaders, teachers, instructional assistants, parents and students) to deepen their understanding and realization of the Portrait of A Graduate and Belief Statements about Learning. This year’s theme: Moving from Invitation to Expectation.
Deliverables:
Attend Apple Executive Leadership Briefing (full leadership team)
Leading #YourSalisbury
Agendas which detail direct instruction for full staff and building leadership teams through Leading #YourSalisbury professional learning
Develop and share Salisbury’s Conceptual Framework for increasing learning opportunities that reflect the organization’s learning beliefs
Develop and share a protocol of guiding questions for learning task redesign
Develop resources for principals to use during building-level professional learning
Communicate the Salisbury learning story via various media outlets (i.e. SFN-TV, TL2020, social media, Broadcast #YourSalisbury podcast/vodcast, etc.)
Design a Provocation Wall to prompt inquiry among various stakeholders focused on the Salisbury Profile of a Graduate and Learning Beliefs
Organize learner-centered site visits (i.e. Building21 in Allentown; El Centro in Philadelphia; other competency-based schools within driving distance)
Focus on Learner Voice
Strategic selection of participant learners in the Superintendent Student Advisory Council (SSAC)
Encourage learners and parents to tell the Salisbury learning story via various media outlets (i.e. SFN-TV, TL2020, social media, Broadcast #YourSalisbury podcast/vodcast, etc.)
Focus on action planning to improve student achievement on standardized test scores
Share progress on the implementation of the vision for learning with stakeholders parent meetings (Open Houses, PTA/PTO, Coffee & Conversation held in each school)
Provide monthly verbal and/or written updates (at Board/Committee meetings and in Board communications) on the professional development and work of building leadership teams to build the capacity of the staff to realize the vision

#2: EDUFUTURING: Policy Implications and Telling the Story of the Work
GOAL: Create a public narrative focused on telling the story of our progress to provide the best learning opportunities and conditions for all of our learners to success in and beyond formal K-12 education.
Deliverables:
Develop an advocacy policymaker paper to share with state/federal representatives as appropriate
Develop a Community Partnerships Plan and strategy for connecting with the community
Strategic Foresight
Include episodes pertaining to strategic foresight on the TLTalkRadio or Shift Your Paradigm podcasts
Include a representative item in the bi-weekly board update
Presentation for the GLVCEE on the topic of digital equity - October 3
Seek professional learning opportunities related to strategic foresight
Schedule bi-annual visits with representatives/senators and/or their staff
Collaborate with other stakeholders, including students, to share the District story at local, regional and/or national conferences
Participate in PASA Advocacy opportunities, as they develop

Support teachers and leaders in the collection and analysis of data (including Clarity Survey) in which to identify focus areas for Leading #YourSalisbury action plans

Advocate for the #lovepubliceducation campaign
Advocate for the quality public education occurring in Salisbury through video clips/photos and tweet to #YourSalisbury, #lovepubliceducation and state/federal representatives/senators, where appropriate
Schedule bi-annual visits with representatives/senators and/or their staff
Collaborate with other stakeholders, including students, to share the District story at local, regional and national conferences
Meet with PSBA Member Services to learn more about advocacy opportunities at the state level

GOAL: Build the capacity of principals and central office staff to gather and analyze data to develop action plans for improved student achievement
Deliverables:
Analyze current resources/practices around data
Meet with building leaders to introduce processes and protocols for data analysis using multiple data sources
Include data driven action planning as a monthly conversations with principals
Provide monthly verbal and/or written updates (at Board/Committee meetings and in Board communications) on the progress of building action plans

Goals (Time frame: January - June 2016):
Instruction: Teaching and Learning (MET) - Develop a clearly articulated vision of classrooms in 2020: meetings/focus groups with representative stakeholders including teachers, students, parents and community; professional development session with diverse teacher group
