Degrees and Certifications:
I have been teaching for the last ten years at the Colonial Intermedite Unit 20 in Easton. I worked in the Therapeutic Emotional Support Program as the Program Specialist and an Emotional Support Teacher. I love spending time with my family, going to the beach and reading. I am so excited to have the opportunity to be part of the SMS team.
In addition to Mrs. Ede, the Emotional Support classroom also has several other staff that work with the students daily, helping them succeed in a variety of areas throughout the school.
The Emotional Support team also includes Ms. LaPlaca (Emotional Support Interventionist), Mrs. Sabo (Instructional Assistant) and Mrs. Williams (Social Worker)
Ms. LaPlaca has been working with the Emotional Support class since its beginning in 2006. She offers behavioral and academic support to all the students both in and out of the classroom as well as meets with the students individually. Ms. LaPlaca is responsible for maintaining positive communication with the parents, students and the teachers they work with to ensure success throughout the school setting. Ms. LaPlaca enjoys working with the students providing guidance, encouragement and support. Outside of the school day you can usually find her spending as much time outdoors as possible, camping, hiking, on the river or in the trees.
Mrs. Sabo has been supporting students academically within our school district for many years. Mrs. Sabo enjoys working with students in a variety of classes, levels and grades. She works hard to help each child feel successful and reach their fullest potential.
Mrs. Williams is the district social worker that offers assistance with services for the program and home support. In addition to offering a few students individual counseling, she organizes lessons and activities in a group setting with the students to help foster growth in a variety of behavioral skills.
The staff of the Emotional Support program have the goal in mind to deliver the best educational, therapeutic, and behavioral services to all our students. Each student is given individual attention as it pertains to his or her specific needs to ensure complete success in both the school and community. Our hope is that each student will be able to have an enjoyable experience while in Salisbury Middle School and grow in ways that will lead to future success.
Have a Great School Year!!
